Silver bangles make great gifts. They are hard wearing, long lasting, and many of them provide a nice blank surface for you to engrave your own personal message on the inside making them a uniquely personal gift.
At Corazon, we have a range of beautiful silver bangles starting at £100 for the simple Tuscana Slim Silver Bangle, perfect for that first piece of serious jewellery right up to the show stopping Pandora, a big silver cuff designed to really make a statement with any outfit or the cleverly hinged Dione & Phoebe perfect for those that don’t like bangles with openings underneath.
For those who like their bangles dainty, we have the Lyra, a simple silver bangle that, with its design is just a little bit different from the run of the mill bangle. We also combined 2 simple bands to create our Castor bangle for impact without too much weight.
There are a huge number of bangles on the market, and it is very difficult to know what to buy. My advice is to look at the weight. The cost of silver jewellery is in the weight of silver used and the workmanship and time involved in making it.
Bangles, as a rule, are quite simple, so weight is the most likely determiner of cost. The more silver used, the higher the quality, and the higher the price. If you see a big bangle with a low weight it is probably hollow, which means it is nowhere near as robust and much more likely to dent or bend. If there is no weight provided, mail them and ask them. They should be able to tell you.
All of our bangles are solid silver, and weights reflect that.
The other advantage of bangles is that those with an opening are extremely flexible in terms of size. They will fit a huge range of wrists sizes and once bought can be bent slightly for a perfect fit making them the ideal choice for a gift where you do not have an accurate wrist measurement (NB: Do not bend and unbend your bangle every time you put it on, as you will eventually snap the silver).
To help our customers we provide max & min wrists measurement recommendations for each of our bracelets and bangles.
If you want to personalise your bangle, engraving is a lovely touch. Most bangles have a smooth inner side which can be engraved at a reasonable cost by a local jeweller. However, always check with the company first because sometimes bangles made in moulds have a textured inner side, and sometimes, the hallmarks are stamped on the inside in some annoyingly central position making engraving impossible.
We try and make sure our hallmarks are small and unobtrusive and none of our bangles have a textured finish. We also say in our descriptions which work for engraving.
So, if you’re looking for a gift for someone special, why not consider a silver bangle? Let us help you find one that’s perfect for you.
