Trying to come up with an original AND romantic gift that she will not only like on the day, but use and appreciate after the roses are in the bin and the chocolates eaten is a challenge that anyone would shy from.

That's where Corazon Latino come in...

Not only do they have over 200 pieces of unusual handmade silver jewellery catering to any budget (prices range from £45 to £450), they also offer a fabulous free gift guide to give you some creative solutions to the Valentine's dilema.
Grab a bargain in the Corazon Latino January Sale

With Christmas behind us (just!) we are now turning our minds to new designs, and that means some of the older pieces need to go to make room for the new.

It always annoys me when I see "70% Off" in sales. That just makes me feel like I've been ripped off at the full prices. When we started the business we decided we would rather try and offer the best possible value for money all year round, rather than mark things up and then do price slashing sales. However we do try and do a little something every now and again. So, to clear a little space, we have decided to offer a selection of our designs at 20% off while stocks last. In the case of some of the pieces, there's only 1 left, but for some we have a few more, but don't expect them to hang around for long.

So, if you've got some Christmas money to treat yourself or your thinking about getting organzied early for Valentine's Day why not check out our January Sale and grab yourself a bargain?

Happy shopping!
Matching sets with a difference. Beautiful bangle and ring combos from Corazon Latino.

When you say a matching set of jewellery people immediately think a bracelet and necklace, perfectly matched and a little bit TOO “neat”. If you’re not a matching sets kind of girl but want a coordinated lake, take a look at the matching bangle and ring sets from Corazon Latino. Not only are they absolutely stunning, but they keep the matching to just one hand (or wear the ring on the opposite hand and you hardly see the similarity) allowing you to mix and match with necklaces and earrings in different materials and styles to create your own unique look.

What are my personal favourites?

Top of the pile has to be the Pandora bangle and ring. Not only is it my favourite bangle of all time, but we have deliberately twisted the ring in the opposite direction to break up the line and give them a little extra edge.

<img src="/newimages/rings-model/pandora-silver-ring.jpg" alt="”Pandora" silver="" bangle="" and="" ring”="" height="389" width="453">

Next would be the Borealis bangles and rings. A spectacular jewel encrusted bangle with a lovely chunky matching ring. They come in Fire (Amethyst, citrine, garnet and smoky quartz) and Ice (Amethyst, blue topaz, peridot and zircon) colour combinations which look fabulous together so if you don’t want to match too much why not go for one in each colour-way?

<img src="/newimages/sets/borealis-set.jpg" alt="”jewelled" bangle="" and="" ring”="" height="384" width="447">
For sparkling impact, it has to be the new Fae bangle with its adjustable matching ring. We have used a clever facetted texture to reflect the light giving both pieces a sparkle far beyond what you can expect from standard polished silver.
<img src="/newimages/brac-model/fae-bangle.jpg" alt="”sparkling" silver="" bangle="" and="" ring”="" height="384" width="447">

If you find bangles too “clanky” or rings difficult to fit, then the Helene and Himalia sets are for you. These clever bracelets are crocheted by hand using solid silver beads and super strong jewellers elastic. They come in a 3 row (the Helene) and 5 row (the Himalia) versions, and both have the option of a matching ring. To keep the scale right for you hands, we’ve used smaller beads for the rings so you can still have the same number of rows without swamping your fingers.

<img src="/newimages/rings-model/helene-silver-ring.jpg" alt="”Stretch" beaded="" bracelet="" and="" ring”="" height="384" width="449">

So before you discount matching sets as middle-aged, take at look at these beauties and see if they will change your mind.

On trend super long necklaces from Corazon Latino

This season's look is all about long lines and it's not just the clothes. The latest trend is long necklaces, worn over winter sweaters either as a single "flapper" length necklace or worn double with one longer and one shorter strand.

We saw the trend coming and have spent the past months working with our artisans in Thailand and India to create 4 lovely long necklaces, perfect for this winters look.

First there is the striking Etain (£150), A beautiful handmade silver rose hung from a 94cm long lariat of solid silver beads. Each end of the lariat is finished with a delicate handmade lily. Fans of the soft, satiny Karen hilltribe silver from Northern Thailand will be enchanted by it's stunning workmanship.

<img src="/newimages/neck-model/etain-necklace.jpg" alt="”long" silver="" rose="" lariat="" necklace”="" width="438" height="374">

Then there is the sleek, modern Niamh silver nuggets necklace (£250). 11 chunky, polished solid silver nuggets suspended from a 140 cm long fine silver chain. Depending on the look you're going for this can be worn super long, wrapped double or even triple to create a dense choker. Despite its delicate look, this weighs in at over 50g making it a heavyweight piece that any woman would be proud to own.

Then we have the gorgeous Belisama (£175). 140cm long again, this lovely necklace combines a fine sterling silver chain with 11 cushion cut gems. We have combined Amethyst, Smokey Quartz, Lemon Topaz and Citrine to create a warm, shimmering necklace that suits any skintone. We also have a matching bracelet for the girl who likes to cover herself in gems.

<img src="/newimages/neck-model/belisama-necklace.jpg" alt="”long" jewelled="" necklace”="" width="416" height="357">

Last but my no means least we have the spectacular Persephone (£425). Made from hand knitted silver chain mail, this gorgeous necklace is simply a long strip of flexible silver net which you can tie at any length you like. Tie it like a tie, wear it like a scarf or wear it backwarsd to draw attention to a backless dress. Super versatile and truly unusual it is guaranteed to draw comment wherever you go.

<img src="/newimages/neck-model/persephone-necklace.jpg" alt="”long" knitted="" silver="" necklace”="" width="420" height="358">

Add some colour to your jewellery box with gorgeous new gemstone jewellery from Corazon Latino.

We've spent years working with our artisans to create interesting and unusual silver jewellery, but every now and again one of our customers asks us if we could "add a bit of colour" to our designs. So, a year ago, we decided to get brave and do just that, by combining our hallmark chunky silver with some gemstones. We started small, with 2 chunky jewelled rings, and we were blown away by the response and now, we are thrilled to announce, by popular demand, our new gemstone range.

To complement our bestselling Borealis jewelled rings we now have 2 spectacular jewel encrusted bangles (£295). Chunky sterling silver set with 49 gemstones in 5 classic cuts; one set in warm "fire" colours and the other in cool "icy" shades.

<img src="/newimages/brac-closeup/borealis-jewelled-bangle-fire.jpg" alt="”jewelled" bangle”="" width="453" height="388">

If bangles aren't your thing, or you prefer a little less "bling", we also have the delicate Alexandra bracelet. Sterling silver teardrops set with zircons, amethysts, garnets, blue topaz and smoky quartz are cleverly linked together and finished with a stylish sliding clasp to create a sparkling jewelled bracelet (£160)

<img src="/newimages/brac-closeup/alexandra-jewelled-bracelet.jpg" alt="”jewelled" bracelet”="" width="454" height="389">

Last, but by no means least we have the delicate and ultra stylish belisama necklace and bracelet. Large, cushion cut stones are framed in silver and strung along a super long (56" or 142cm) silver chain (£175). It can be double or even triple wrapped to create a range of different looks all of which are complemented by the delicate matching bracelet (£75).

Check out these, and the other stunning new pieces in our new designs section online.
Hand-knitted silver chain mail jewellery from Corazon Latino

Corazon Latino has gained a reputation for their stylish and unusual designs and clever use of texture. The 2011/12 range is no exception.

One of the most spectacular pieces in the new range is their Persephone silver tie necklace. It a show-stopper at first glance, but once you discover that it is made by hand, then it blows your socks off!

<img src="/newimages/neck-model/persephone-necklace.jpg" alt="”silver" chainmail="" tie”="" width="467" height="399">

This incredible technique has been perfected by artisans in Northern Thailand, who create each tiny link by hand and then build it up by attaching each link to 3 surrounding links allowing them to knit a length of pure silver chain mail to any dimensions they require. It may look delicate but it's heavyweight, surprisingly strong and feel incredibly sexy against bare skin.

The team at Corazon Latino have worked with the artisans to create 4 stunning mix and match pieces; The fabulous persephone tie necklace which you simply wrap around your neck and tie to suit your neckline (or leave it dangling, as the mood takes you). The wide Persephone bracelet, which is finished with a gorgeous feature clasp, and the ultra modern Isis bracelet and necklace both of which are finished with soldi silver buttons.

<img src="/newimages/sets/isis-set.jpg" alt="”button" up="" bracelet="" and="" necklace”="" width="465" height="398">

Prices start at £175 ($280) for the Isis button up bracelet and go right up to £425 ($680) for the Persephone tie. If you're feeling extravagant and want to buy a necklace and a bracelet, all combos are available with a 10% saving on the individual piece prices.

I wonder if they could do me a sweater?

Online jeweller Corazon Latino launches cufflinks for the first time

Corazon Latino has built its reputation as a destination for men looking for gifts for the women in their lives by offering unusual, handmade jewellery, and unbeatable customer service. Now they’ve taken this winning formula one stage further by launching a range of stunning handmade cufflinks which will not only appeal to their gift buying male customers, but now give their loyal female customers the perfect gift for the men in their lives this Christmas (yes, women do start thinking about Christmas presents in September!).

Their stunning selection of 15 designs range from the stark simplicity of their chunky sterling silver rectangles (perfect for engraving) to the show stopping sparkle of their Marius supersized green amber cufflinks. From textured silver; handmade in the hills of Northern Thailand & central Mexico; to one of a kind, British-made cufflinks based on 100-year-old sea glass combed from the Northumbrian coast and polished hardwoods inlaid with silver, there is something for everyone.

As with all the Corazon Latino range, everything is handmade, hallmarked sterling silver and of the highest quality (unlike most cufflinks on the market who used plated or plain metal backs, Corazon Latino’s range is sterling silver top to bottom.

With prices from £55 to £175, free UK delivery within 3 working days and a no quibble money back guarantee, what man wouldn’t be thrilled with a pair?

Having started my own jewellery business thanks to a
happy accident, I am always on the lookout for other accidental jewellers. This
quest led me to New York based team Aurelia Cotton and Patrick Culpepper of
Peppercotton who stumbled across their clever crystal mesh concept while working
together on a completely different concept.

Their crystal mesh design is completely innovative, Each
necklace is handmade in their Brooklyn studio using lightweight, transparent
mesh tubing filled with loose Swarovski and vintage Czech crystals. They
combine complimentary colours and tones in a variety of sizes to create a
blended, sparkling crystal rope. Because each one is handmade and the
combination of crystals vary, every necklace is unique.

These lovely necklaces are available in a range of
spectacular colour combinations and 2 standard sizes, a thick, 56cm version,
and a slim 102cm version which can be doubled up or knotted for two different
looks. Prices start at $275 (£175).

If you would like to buy one of these stunning necklaces,
AHA Life are offering 2 colour ways, a gold, silver and bronze selection and a
stunning ocean blue with copper highlights. You can see both versions at the

On tour - Finalising our 2011 silver jewellery range

It's that time again. Every year we scour the world looking for interesting new designs and unusual "raw materials" to create new pieces of jewellery around. This year, not only have our artisans come up with some fantastic new pieces but we have also decided to do our bit for the British economy by supporting a selection of British jewellery designers and featuring a selection of pieces from "guest designers" based right here in dear old blighty. More of that over the coming weeks, when I will take the opportunty to introduce you to each of these fabulous designers who will be gracing our pages from this summer onwards.

In the meantime, I am travelling round Asia finalising our own new designs and making sure every piece is as practical as it is beautiful.

So what's coming?

Well, building on the success of our Borealis jewelled rings and for those of you who have asked us for more colour in our range, we will be bringing you more sparkle with a jewelled bangle, gemstone bracelets and a lovely jewelled necklace, all handmade for us by the fabulous gemcutters of Jaipur. From the hills of Northern Thailand we will be bringing you more chain mail (we have a necklace that will blow your socks off!) and some really unusual chunky silver bangles with matching rings. From the team in Bangkok, we have some pretty variations on our popular Eros set.

Not to be outdone by the guys in Asia, the guys and girl in Mexico have also come up wth some stylish new silver pieces which I am sure will become classics.

Last but by no means least, and by popular demand, we will finally be doing something for the boys, with a range of gorgeous handmade silver cufflinks including 2 designs from one of our British guest designers.

We'll be shooting the range in June and hope to everything online before the end of July. I for one, can't wait!

Beautiful botantical jewellery from Columbian designer Clara Saldariagga

If you like jewellery inspired by nature, why not take it one stage further with these absolutely stunning rose and orchid earrings? Part of the "nature Collection by jewellery designer Clara Saldariagga, each pair is made by dipping real flowers, leaves and seeds in electrolytic copper before plating them in sterling silver or 24k gold. Celebrating the biodiversity of her native Columbia, Saldariagga uses a clever technique which literally freezes nature, and allows each piece to develop it's own unique patina as it reacts (safely) with the owners skin making every piece completely unique.

<img src="/newimages/extra/leaf-pendant.jpg" alt="”Gold" leaf="" pendant”="">

Starting at just over $100 for the delicate leaf pendant, and $300 for the gorgeous orchid earrings, they're not easy to get hold of, being made to order in Colombia, but I have to say, I think they might just be worth the effort.

<img src="/newimages/extra/flower-earrings.jpg" alt="”rose" and="" orchid="" earrings”="" width="486" height="273">

Personalised silver jewellery using silver art clay

For years, companies have been offering to create uinque pieces of silver jewellery based around a finger print (particularly popular with parents). As this concept has increased in popularity and people have become more and more adept at working in silver art clay, people have come up with more and more creative ways to personalise jewellery.

I've never been a particular fan of the finger print (but then I'm not a parent), but I do like the idea of being able to imprint a drawing, signature a fragment of writing in silver.

If you can't get past tiny charms and pendants with finger prints on, what about these ideas for something a little more adult...

Create a unqiue piece of memorial jewellery by having a lost loved one's writing on a silver pendant. Whether that's the signature of an artist, the musical notes of a composer, the doodles of a cartoonist or simply a few words of a note from that special person to you, there is always an opportunity to immortalise that unique scribble in silver.

Go for a really personal alternative to engraving by writing your own message in you own handwriting and having that set into the silver.

Unfortunately, this technique is based around jewellery made from art clay (a claylike substance that is imprinted and then baked in a kiln to burn off the clay and leave 99.9% pure silver) so you are restricted to the pieces of jewellery they can make with the clay and the finish that comes from this kind of process. You won;t be seeing highly polished, contemporary silver jewellery with this kinnd of personalistion, but if you are happy with the style and want to create a lasting and very personal memory it is well worth considering.
