Hi again,

People often ask me why the company is called Corazon Latino (particularly web experts who tell me it is very stupid to have a name no one can spell, pronounce or remember!).

As you will know from my last blog, Corazon Latino came about by accident. There was no detailed business plan, no in-depth market research, just some bad Spanish, some fabulous silver jewellery and a lot of hard work.

So not surprisingly, the company name was also un-planned.

I chose it, after some of my Mexican friends told me as a joke that they thought I had a Latin heart trapped in an English body. Corazon Latino directly translates as Latin Heart, but to me it means a lot more than that. It means a spirit of passion and adventure, a love of music, laughter and dancing ‘til dawn. Deja-vu, love at first sight, and finding your soul mate. Being yourself no matter what other people say, living every day as if it was your last.

I have this "Corazon Latino feeling" as the inspiration for the look and feel of the site and the designs for our handmade jewellery. We also use it as the driving force behind how we run the business and how we treat our customers and our team.

It means that everything we do is based on what we like. The designs are what we would like to wear, not what is the latest fashion trend. The customer service is based on how we would like to be treated, and we work with independent artisans buying unique pieces rather than wholesalers supplying bulk to any retailer who asks. It means we will always be a small company, with a limited range, but it also means we will always be able to give our customers a personalized service, and silver jewellery that is a little bit different. AND we will be able to have some fun doing it.
