I am always on the look out for unusual handmade jewellery or new and interesting ways to wear it. I recently came across Wastenot; the creation of Danish born sculptor Lone Sigurdsson.
Lone creates gorgeous one of a kind handmade neckpieces that are half way between clothing and a necklace (Lone calls them wearable art). Each piece is a one off, handmade using reclaimed fabrics and off cuts. They are designed to be worn with a simple t-shirt, sweater or shiftdress; anything with a plain neckine would work. Prices start at £140
My personal favourites in the current collection are the fabulous autumnal leaves in chocolate brown felt (£160) and the brilliant red cotton ruffle (£200).
To see the entire collection visit Wasteknot or pop into one of her London stockists: Shop and Gallery, 108 Fortune Green, West Hampstead or From Somewhere, 341 Portobello Road W10
Lone also takes commissions and will happily create a bespoke neckpiece using your own fabric, so why not recycle a beloved dress and create something completely unique?
