After discovering the talents of Sarah-Jane at Bish Bosh Becca, now I have come across Lori Price, founder and designer behind the Texas based Butterfly Jones A former journalist, who seems to share my passion for self expression, and hand crafted jewellery (Her company motto is "Spread your wings and be the jewel that you are."). My kind of girl...

Lori combines sterling silver, gold and silver toned stainless steel and 14-karat gold-filled with semi precious stones, dyed quartz and glass beads to create simple yet unusual pieces that look just as fabulous with a pair of jeans as a little black dress. To keep the range fresh and give her clients something truly individual, all of Lori's designs are limited editions. She also takes on commissions for bespoke items. Prices range from $70-$150 with bespoke items starting at around $200.

Not only does Lori design beautiful jewellery, she is also putting something back into the community, donating 10% of her profits to a selection of charitable caused including Genesis Women's Shelter, the Nature Conservancy, FeedingAmerica.org, the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society and the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.

Handmade jewellery from Bish Bosh Becca

On my search for interesting and unusual jewellery I have to wade through an awful lot of very average websites selling even more mediocre jewellery. However, every now and again, you come across something that makes it all worthwhile.

Let me introduce Bish Bosh Becca . This whimsically named site is the brain child of Sarah Jane Hill. Sarah Jane designs and makes her entire range of jewellery using sterling silver, semi precious stones, seed pearls, Swarovski crystals an Murano glass. Not only does she have lovely handmade bracelets, necklaces and earrings, she also does a stunning range of bridal jewellery perfect for your big day.

My personal favourites (and if any of you are familiar with my own jewellery you’ll know why) are her lovely crocheted cuff Semi precious stones cleverly woven into cuffs of fine silver or gold wire, they are available either as a solid cuff, or a softer, flexible cuff with T bar clasp.

Corazon adds sparkle to an 18th birthday

At Corazon Latino we work really hard to make sure every customer gets EXACTLY what they want.

Back in September we were contacted by a wonderful woman looking for the perfect 18th birthday present for her daughter. She loved our Eros matching silver necklace and bracelet, but really wanted to add earrings to the set. We didn't do earrings but that didn't stop us.

We had considered earrings when we were pulling together the range so we spoke to our wonderful team in Thailand, and asked them if they had any of the original design. Luckily they did. So we shipped the earrings all the way from Thailand, and managed to get them to our customer in time for the big day.

She was kind enough to send us a photo of her daughter in the set at her 18th Birthday party. I have to say, I think she looks stunning!

When you work in the business, you rarely get a chance to see your jewellery once it leave the company. It has given us all a real buzz to see our jewellery looking so fabulous. So our thanks to mother and daughter for sharing this with us.

Silver jewellery, the perfect fashion accessory for this seasons greys

The hot fashion colours for this Autumn and winter are greys & purples, from charcoal through to deep plum. After the 80's inspired acid brights of this summer, the winter colours are softer, more flattering and a lot more stylish BUT they do need some jewellery to lift them or you risk looking drab.
