Tiffany launch 3 new ranges to celebrate 30 years of Paloma Picasso design
Paloma Picasso's signature X's and Grafitti designs have become almost as familiar as Tiffany's classic silver jewellery and engraved catches.

To celebrate 30 years working with Tiffany, she has come up with 3 lovely new ranges.

The "Dove" collection (Paloma means Dove in Spanish), a range a fluid stylised bird pendants inspired by her fathers famous drawing. Availabe in sterling silver, 10-karat gold and diamonds.

For those who prefer gold, "Marrakesh" is a range of ornate gold cutwork pieces set with precious and semi precious stones inspired by the Moorish architecture of Marrakesh where Picasso owns a home.

The "Hammered Circles" range is the most simple A wearable, everyday range, cleverly combining hammered metal circles to form links in necklace sand loops in earrings. Available in sterling silver, yellow and rose gold.

Once again, Ms Picasso has managed to create pieces which I have no doubt will become as recognizable as any of her already famous design classics.
Handmade Swarovski crystal jewellery from Kelly Kusel
Mother of 2, Kelly Kusel, started making jewellery at home, and now has a successful online business selling her pretty designs.

Working with silver clay (an unusual material  made with particles of pure silver, organic binders and water, that is moulded, and then bake to burn off  the organic compounds and water, leaving you a reformed piece of pure 99.9% silver), semi precious stones and Swarovski crystals, she has created a great valeu range of handmade jewellery.

Her range of colourful charm bracelets, priced at just £15 make a lovely gift for a child or teenager, just branching into jewellery for the first time, while the wrap bracelets and Swarovski crystal necklaces make fun costume jewellery for women of any age.

For more information, visit her online store Kelly Kusel Designs or visit her at the Southend Robin Hood Country show on the 3rd and 4th of July.
Pretty handmade jewellery from Manou Bijoux
Although Corazon Latino is all about silver jewellery, I love all things sparkly, and am always on the lookout for other pretty and unusual handmade jewellery.

I recently came across Oxford based Manou Bijoux and thought they were worth talking about.

They have a lovely range of handmade jewellery made with semi precious stones, sparkling Venetian glass and Swarovski crystals on silver and gold wirework. Not only are there some lovely pieces, but they are ridiculously cheap. You can get a fabulous handmade necklace like these lovely Amethyst and Deep red heart necklaces for the same price as a mass produced piece of high street costune jewellery.

With new designs being added all the time to reflect the latest fashions (right now you can brighten your days with bracelets in the delicate shades of spring), and a lovely new range of jewelled hair accessories, there is bound to be something to tickle your fancy.

Gorgeous Opal jewellery from Sugarpuss London
Coming from the Greek word "Opallos", meaning to "see a change of colour" Opals are one of the most striking and unusual of precious stones.

Unlike most precious stones, Opals are not crystals, but solidified silica gels. The shimmering colours; which vary from pearlescent white to almost black; within the opals are created by light refracting through the transparant spheres within the stone. Opals are extremely rare, with over 90% of the worlds supply coming from the Australian Outback, and the balance from South and Central America.

Some of the prettiest Opal jewellery around can be found at Sugarpuss London. They have a gorgeous range of opal necklaces, with prices from £85 (combining a single opal with a sterling silver chain) raight up to £12,500 for a necklace of opal beads with a 18k gold and diamond clasp.

If bracelets are more your thing, then take a look at their opal bracelets. They come in a huge variety of colours including the one of a kind Mexican fire opal bracelet, a snap at £70.

If you want to stick with the worlds most famous opals, then look no further than their Australian opal jewellery, combining Australian opals with Swarovski crsytals and freshwater pearls. My personal favourite is the Black opal and Pearl necklace made with a solid Lightening Ridge opal.

Many pieces of Opal jewellery are made from composites (thin slivers of opal backed with plastics and resins), but not at Sugarpuss London. All their jewellery is made from solid opals and comes with a certificate of authenticity to guarantee you are buying the REAL THING.

Handmade wedding jewellery from Twinkleberry adds sparkle to the big day
With Valentine's Day over I am sure that many of you are now planning Summer weddings.

While Corazon Latino's silver jewellery probably isn't most peoples first choice for wedding jewellery, there are some lovely sites out there doing really pretty, handmade jewellery for the big day.

One of my favourites is Twinkleberry. They have a lovely range of crystal wedding jewellery. If you want something delicate AND romantic, then their crystal bridal necklace is a must, a Swarovski crystal heart on organza ribbon with crystal beads and sterling silver. Available on a variety of different coloured ribbons, this is perfect for the bride or bridesmaids.

Complete the look with a pair of their crystal earrings, combining Swarovski crystals, freshwater pearls and sterling silver settings, there is a world of choice for the big day. My personal favourites are their white coin pearl clusters a bargain at just £14.

Everything on Twinkleberry is handmade, using the best quality materials (sterling silver, murano glass, Swarovski crystal and fresh water pearls). Each design is unique to them, and fabulous value for money. So whether you're getting married or not this year, get yourself to Twinkleberry and treat yourself to a little sparkle.

Create your own custom bangles at Alex and Ani
If you like to create your own look, and you're a fan of bangles, then you HAVE to visit the fabulous Alex and Ani.

They have a lovely range of silver jewellery, but it is their fabulous, patented exanding silver and gold wire bangles that are really special.

These clever bangles are made from a long piece of wire with a loop at one end which is threaded over the wire to form a circle which can be adjusted for  perfect fit. Each bangle is then decorated with beads, crystals and semi precious stones to create a striking overall look.

Designed to be worn in a stack, they are available online in a selection of stacks from 7 to 34 bangles  and prices from $70 to over $600.

Even more fantastic, they have a Bangle bar, where you can create you own custom stack from a wide selection of their best selling bangles. Just browse the selection and drag and drop your chosen bangles onto the bar to see the finished article. Choose from coloured or metal beads, dainty charms or simple wire to create your own unique look.

If you find that there’s just too much choice, or you feel like you could use some help choosing the right piece, then feel free to give us a call on 0845 8382393 or drop us a line.

To get you thinking, here are our recommended 10 top pieces for Valentine’s Day:

First and foremost we have the lovely Venus Necklace; (£55) a pretty, delicate, twisted silver heart on your choice of silver chain, suede, leather or rubber lace.

If you prefer something a little chunkier, we have the Venus chunky silver heart pendant. (£50) Buy it alone, or add a solid silver choker (either fine or thick) to create a necklace.

Another gorgeous silver pendant is the Cordelia (£70) a beautiful silver rose cast in sterling silver. Perfect on one of our silver chokers, or strung on a red velvet ribbon for a really romantic touch.

If she likes Amber, why not go for one of our unique amber pendants (all £95). Natural Baltic amber in 3 lovely colour ranges (honey, milky and forest) hand wrapped in a sterling silver cage. Because each piece of amber is unique, every pendant is a one of a kind. We have 2 pendants designed around a stylised heart.

We have the simple Dorado or the more ornate Cybele. Both are lovely on a simple silver chain, or a fine silver choker.

If you don’t fancy a pendant, then why not take a look at one of our gorgeous silver bangles. We have a great selection in a variety of sizes and designs, but for Valentines, my favourites are the stunning Pandora;(£150) a thick, twist of solid silver that wraps around the wrist in a stunning cuff, the simple Tuscana (£70) and the truly romantic Aphrodite (£200).

The Tuscana is a dainty silver bangle with a modern hexagonal design; an ideal bangle for smaller frames or women who prefer their jewellery low key.

Named for the goddess of love, the Aphrodite is what we call a soul mate bangle. 2 different bangles, locked together, supporting each other but remaining as individuals. The twisted bangle is completely free of the smooth one and twists around it. The more you play with it the smoother it spins.

Both of these fabulous bangles have smooth undersides, making them ideal for engraving, so why not add your own personal message and give her a Valentine’s gift she will never forget?

If you don’t want to go down the classic Heart route, then why not a solid silver flower? Our Bianca silver flower necklace (£110) is a thick solid silver flower hung on fine black cords. This lovely pendant can be taken off the necklace and worn in 2 different ways (there are 2 loops on the back allowing you to twist it and hang it from either 1 or 2 of them) or you can ring the changes and wear it on a choker or chain for a totally different look.  A versatile piece, designed to give you 3 looks for the price of 1.

Finally, for the truly extravagant, why not go for the Galatea set (£337.50). This contemporary design was inspired by the traditional hugs and kisses at the end of letter. Little X’s and O’s, cast, linked and hand polished to create a lovely silver collar with matching bracelet and earrings. So if you’re feeling generous, why not cover the lady in your live with silver hugs and kisses this Valentine’s Day?
